About Our Tours

Tour Operator:

For our latest trip, we've partnered with Ki Concerts. They have decades of experience working with hundreds of high schools and universities around the world with knowledgeable local guides and translators.

Eligibility:

Our trips are open to all high-school-aged students and recent graduates. Additionally, students from our Cadet Regiment who have at least 1 year of experience are welcome. Students under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent. Students must commit themselves to attending all rehearsals. Parents & family members are eligible to attend as well!

Why attend?

Amazing Performance Opportunity

Students will be performing in Europe at a parade American high schoolers have not attended before. Performing throughout the streets of Basel with a live audience of thousands of people! This is a unique once in a lifetime performance opportunity you'll never get again!

FUN!!!

All trip participants will have a chance to tour Milan, Basel, and Paris, and the surrounding areas, visit historical landmarks, try the local cuisine, and shop! There is both free time and structured activities to make this a great educational and performance opportunity! You get to travel in Europe with your friends and make new ones from schools all over the Bay Area!

Student Leadership Experience & Teamwork

TBC has always been run through the hard work of its officers. This trip is an excellent opportunity for students to demonstrate their leadership skills in real-world situations. Saying that you helped lead a community band on an international performance tour on your college application is an amazing level of accomplishment that would help students stand out in their college applications.

The Caliber of the Program

By going on an international performance tour, you signal to colleges that you are an internationally qualified musician.

Educational Experience

This trip is designed to provide a great educational experience for students. In selecting the points of interest along our tour, we have emphasized points of historical and educational value.

FAQ

Don't see your question? Not a problem! Email us at tbc@tricitybandcorps.org and we will get back to you!

Can family members attend as well?

Yes! We always have parents and siblings who travel with the group. Pricing and everything will be exactly the same for all participants. Bring the whole family and make it a family vacation!

What is included in the price?

Basically everything including insurance. It’s easier to tell you what’s not included:

  • About 50% of meals, so students have the opportunity to sample and pick things they enjoy. We’ll be visiting some food halls and street shops to sample local cuisine.
  • Souvenirs
  • Gratuity
  • Upgraded cancel for any reason insurance

Are there any discounts or fundraising opportunities?

Yes!

  • For every person who lists your name as the reason they sign up, you’ll get $100 off your ticket price.
  • The ticket prices are also cheaper if you register and deposit earlier so we can lock in an early bird price.
  • Lastly, there will be a series of fundraising opportunities available through TBC, each trip, students have raised hundreds of dollars towards their trip in the past.

Who is eligible to participate?

As we only travel once every few years, and we always change destinations, it can be years before we do the same trip again. We want to allow as many students to participate as possible. We will accept all students who have at least 1 full year of marching band experience before the start of the trip. This means that all students who are currently in our cadet regiment program to high school students, and even college students are welcome to participate. There are no auditions required. However, all students must commit to attending trip rehearsals which will be Sunday evenings once a week from 6-8PM starting in January 2026.
